Privacy Policy

BeautifAI ("we", "our", "the app") is a personal styling app that turns photos of your clothes into AI-suggested outfits, and lets you optionally share looks with friends or the wider BeautifAI community. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Who can use BeautifAI
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We ask for your age at signup to enforce this.
Information we collect
- Account info: the email address and password you sign up with (handled by Firebase Authentication — we never see or store your raw password).
- Profile info: name, age, bio, pronouns, a profile photo, and your style preferences (e.g. "everyday style", "wardrobe aesthetic") if you choose to add them.
- Closet photos: photos of clothing items you add to your digital closet, and the attributes our AI extracts from them (color, category, formality, etc.).
- Outfits and events: outfits you save, events you create, and which suggested outfits you like or decline — used to avoid repeating a look you've already said no to.
- Social content: posts, photos, and 24‑hour stories you choose to share, plus likes, comments, and friend connections with other users.
- Location and weather: if you allow it, your approximate location is used to fetch local weather so outfit suggestions match the forecast. We don't store a location history.
- Usage data: basic app diagnostics needed to keep the service running (e.g. error logs on our servers). We do not use third‑party advertising trackers.
How we use your information
- To generate outfit suggestions tailored to your closet, the weather, and the occasion.
- To power the AI stylist: photos you submit for outfit matching are sent, over a secure connection, to Anthropic's Claude API to analyze garments and suggest combinations. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf and does not use it to train their models.
- To operate StyleFeed: showing your posts to friends (and, only if you set your account to Public, to other users with a similar style), and showing you posts from people you follow or who share your aesthetic.
- To keep the app secure — verifying your identity, enforcing per‑account limits on AI requests, and preventing abuse.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We use the following service providers to run the app, each bound to only use your data to provide their service to us:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions) — hosts your account and app data.
- Anthropic (Claude API) — processes photos you submit for AI outfit matching.
Other users only see what your privacy settings allow: friends can see your friends‑only posts and stories; if you set your account to Public, users with overlapping style tags can discover your posts too. Your closet, saved looks, and event outfits are always private to you.
Content moderation
You can report or block another user's post directly in the app. Reports are reviewed and may result in content removal or account action.
Your choices
- Edit or remove your bio, photo, and style preferences at any time in Edit Profile.
- Switch your account between Public and Private at any time.
- Delete individual posts, stories, or closet items whenever you like.
- Delete your account entirely from within the app. This permanently removes your profile, closet, posts, stories, and friend connections from our systems, including every other user's reference to you as a friend.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. Deleting your account triggers an automatic cleanup that removes your Firestore data and uploaded photos. Stories are also automatically hidden from view 24 hours after posting.
Children's privacy
BeautifAI is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
